This blog is about the hiking adventures of Summerset & Ethan Banks. Our son Cameron is also featured.
Summerset is on the AMC NH 4,000 Footer Club Awards Committee, is nearly done her grid, has completed the AT, the PCT, and is thinking about the CDT. She’s hiked all over New England and the US. She’s this blog’s hiking all-star with thousands of miles under her feet!
Ethan is a serial New Hampshire hiker about 30% of the way through his grid who has made a few trips out west for hiking in Oregon, California, and Utah. He likes big mileage days and ridgeline traverses when he can get them.

Summerset starts the PCT in 2017.

Hi,
Congrats on your progress so far. I’m a White Mtn hiker as well. I discovered your site through the Hiking Blogs site. Ours is right above yours. We’re in training as well and using the Whites to attain our goals. Perhaps we can exchange links from our sites? Drop me a email if you’d like to chat about hiking the whites or other things.

Amazing blog. My girlfriend Katie and I are just entering the planning stages for an attempt at the 48 this coming spring/ summer. I’ll definitely be using your blog for trail references. Thanks for the helpful posts.

Ethan,
How did you get your redlining stats? I’ve worked a bit on doing different trails, but since my daughter arrived in 2005 have been at home a lot. Just started to get out more, wish she enjoyed the outdoors, but I understand it is not everyone’s cup of tea.
Nice meeting you on the trail and thanks for stopping to say hi.
Dana
Nice to meet you too! I am using the spreadsheet from HikerEd’s site.
